Concept description
The way the final KeyPing works is identical to the initial model presented in the design process: A key sound is produced when a contact person comes home, while the LEDs will be activated when the key is attached to the KeyPing. These LEDs represent self-chosen contact persons and indicate the current and previous activity of these contact persons and whether they are present (‘at home’) or not.

The working principle of KeyPing is explained in figure 5. The blinking lights are simulated by yellow LEDs which are connected to a Phidget board and laptop with Max MSP software.
